What is Family
Life Ministry?
Church as family life
ministry. This viewpoint focuses on the idea that the church is called to be “a
family of families” where it’s everybody’s responsibility to care for
everybody.
Definition of
Family Life Ministry?
Family life ministry is ministry of the
church through preventive and equipping efforts designed to strengthen all
forms of families in the church and the community.
(The
image of “family” in the Bible gives us a fitting metaphor of the church.)
1. Jesus
calls those who follow him “all brothers” (Matt. 23:8).
2. Paul
makes reference to the “family of believers” (Gal. 6:10) and that all believers
are members of “God’s household” (Eph. 2:19).
3. Family
ministry, it would appear, refers to a commitment of the entire church to be
relationally and programmatically connected to the diverse people and
ministries in the church.
Family Life Ministry is
committed to connecting every member of the body of Christ using relational and
programmatic strategies designed to bring together the diverse people of our
congregation.
