Operation Denim Back
to School
Operation Denim is an outreach ministry designed to
serve youth in the Kerrville community who need a
little extra help as they begin a new school year.
Students
are provided a new pair of jeans, a pair of shorts
and 6 pair of socks from generous donations made by
our Kerrville Church of Christ family.
In 2010 we provided assistance to 122 young people
affiliated with Christian Women’s Job Corp, Child
Protective Services and Arms of Hope Medina Campus
Operation Denim is headed by Co-Chairs and a
small committee who work together in collecting
donations, selecting organizations, compiling
information needed for shopping, purchasing items, packaging, and delivering gifts
with a warm smile.
Donations
are collected mid June, collecting and compiling
commence in mid-June, shopping and packaging occur in
early August, and clothing is delivered before the
first week of school.
Our congregation celebrates this ministry
with Denim Sunday, a time when wearing denim unites
us in the spirit of service.
Operation Denim provides a wonderful opportunity to
work closely with other KCC members and folks in our
community.
Your participation would be greatly
appreciated and rewarding.
